Me senti uma acomodada preguiçosa agora hahahahaha

I really love this image. Like I said, I think I prefered the version without the arch, mostly because I really liked what you did with the sky and the colour contrast, I also like it that way.

The colours, smooth rendering and intruiguing symbolism make this image one of my favorite.
Darned good job!

Ok haha, now I understand! =p
Well she's not supposed to be a surrogate mother haha... maybe the second option is right. She's a bit broody. Though she should be keeping those eggs warm, shouldn't she?

Of course you can, I'd love to help! You know, my old digital paintings also looked kinda unsaturated and dull colored, lacking life. Then, I decided to experiment and not be afraid of using brighter and stronger colors. What I did was observe other works that had the colors I wanted to achieve in my paintings, and try to figure out how they worked.
Some tips I might give you: start painting over the entire drawing with one dark color, according to what atmosphere you desire. In the case of this painting, I painted everything in a dark teal, a little darker than the sky. Then, start putting colors above it. It helps to keep the colors consistent and not too bright and unrelated to each other.
Also, start with a little less saturated colors - and not too pure. Like, keep away from pure red, pure yellow... use more "dirty" colors, terciary colors, etc. After you have a color scheme and have blocked some colors on your painting, you can start adding brighter colors on top of it, to give it more life. I usually use the color picker, then chose a more saturated version of that color to add to the painting. I also use the "vibrancy" tool on photoshop to adjust them. Tip: the shadows and highlights are usually less saturated, and the middle tone is more saturated.

Oh, and in this pic, all colors have a little antique-yellow mixed to them, to make them look "antiqued". =)

I don't know if those things might help you or if it was too confusing... but feel free to ask anything you'd like to know!

Oooohh by the way, I forgot to add to the description - you can see the WIP here, in the animated gif with some shots of the progress [link]

I see. now I mostly have the Photoshop elements from my tablet so im not sure if i have "vibrancy" tool. now when you add the antique-yellow how do you a set the layer and such.

Ops - my mistake, it's "Vibrance", not "vibrancy" hehe. It's on Image -> Adjustments -> Vibrance, on Photoshop.
I choose "antiqued" colors from the start, but they can always be adjusted using other photoshop tools like Variations or Curves... You can also make a new layer on top of your painting, fill it with the desired color, and play with the layer modes - multiply, overlay... with low opacity. Oh, and also play with textures, I use mostly old parchment textures, they have the antique-yellow color of their own. =)

It's a little confusing to explain, because I do some things kinda intuitively and sometimes there are more than one way of achieving a certain effect! But hopely it's a start, hehe... Just keep experimenting and practicing, look at and study arts you like, see tutorials, and all this stuff!

Haha, you don't usually do a lot of digital painting, right? But I apply some of these principles when painting in watercolors too...
